1. Scope

This policy explains how Instinctive handles information in Intervals and Chords for iPad and iPhone, Instinctive Chords for Mac, and MIDI Mirror for Mac. In this policy, “we”, “us”, and “Instinctive” refer to Instinctive Limited in New Zealand.

2. How the apps handle data

Our apps do not require an account and do not collect or transmit personal information, app usage analytics, advertising identifiers, or tracking data. Notes received from a connected MIDI device or entered with an on-screen keyboard are processed locally on your device to provide the app's musical analysis and display. We do not receive or store that musical input.

Settings such as display preferences may be stored locally on your device so the app can remember them. You can remove this locally stored information by deleting the app, subject to the normal behaviour of your device and any backups you control.

App Store purchases

Downloads and purchases are handled by Apple under Apple's own terms and privacy policy. We do not receive your payment card details. Apple may provide developers with aggregated sales and performance information; it does not identify your musical input.

External links

The apps may link to Apple or other external services. Those services operate under their own terms and privacy policies, which we do not control.

3. Support correspondence

If you contact us by email, you voluntarily provide your email address and anything included in your message. We use this information only to respond, troubleshoot, and maintain an appropriate record of the support conversation. We retain it only for as long as reasonably needed for those purposes or to meet legal obligations. Our email provider processes that correspondence on our behalf.

4. Security and children

We use reasonable safeguards for information we hold, such as support messages. No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. Our apps are not designed to collect personal information from children and do not knowingly do so.

5. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if our products or privacy practices change. The date at the top of this page will show when the current version took effect. Material changes will be explained here before or when they take effect where practicable.
